What Is Lucid Dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is the state of being consciously aware that you are dreaming while in the dream itself. Lucid dreaming has been known about and practiced in many traditions for centuries. In the West it was scientifically validated by Dr Keith Hearne in 1975 through the ocular-signalling method at Liverpool University and by Dr. Stephen LaBerge at Stanford University.

Empowered by the knowledge that the world they are experiencing is a projection or creation of their imagination, lucid dreamers can consciously alter, influence and change the dreamscape. They can create and transform objects, people, scenery and even themselves. The world of lucid dreams provides a safe environment for the dreamer to experience anything he or she wishes, imagination is the only limitation. It is a safe environment, free from physical and social laws, to explore the subconscious, to solve problems, for healing and for personal or spiritual growth. Lucid dreaming can help you discover your true self and your highest potential.

The lucid dream state is highly immersive and provides a multi-sensory experience in the same way you experience waking life: touch, sight, taste, hearing and smelling. Lucid dreaming can be extraordinarily vivid, intense, pleasurable and exhilirating. In fact, many lucid dreamers consider their lucid dreams as some of the most amazing experiences of their life.
